INTERNATIONAL DAY OF UKAN KURUGH

Posted on

Fellow citizens and compatriots, after a critical assessment of the roles and contributions of this selfless, hardworking, detribalised, philanthropic and nation builder, I am convinced that this young man needs to be encouraged, emulated, motivated and appreciated beyond the cyber space and shores of Benue and indeed Nigeria.

I hereby propose, appeal and seriously recommend (believing in the power of the social media) that modalities be put in place towards the global acknowledgement of the modest efforts of this humble gentleman in positively affecting lives of not only individuals or the less privileged in and amongst us but also the entire Benue community and beyond.
I know such things are ratified by the United Nations Organisation. I also know very well that if this proposal goes down well with well meaning citizens of this country in general and those of Benue extraction in particular who are in and out of government corridors the way forward in terms of getting the UNO’s attention would not be a big deal.
Towards the attainment of this noble objective, I Samuel Terseer Baki hereby move a motion for the institution and declaration of a day to be known and referred to as ” International Day of Ukan Kurugh” to be marked and celebrated annually and globally.
Thank you.
Terseer Sam Baki.

Makurdi, June 2017.
PS: My candid opinion as expressed here might not be perfectly articulated but I believe the central message has been passed. Let this be a foundation or springboard upon which finer ideas in this regards could be harnessed in the overall attainment of this notable aim.
